KLM Suspends Amsterdam–Dubai Flights Until March 27, 2027

October 27, 2026

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has extended the suspension of flights between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Dubai for the entire 2026–2027 winter season, with services remaining suspended through March 27, 2027.

The airline confirmed the extension in an update published on October 26 on its official website. The decision forms part of KLM's ongoing adjustments to its Middle East flight schedule.

The suspension affects KLM-operated services between Amsterdam and Dubai. It does not mean that all airlines operating between the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates have suspended their flights.

Dubai Flights Suspended Throughout the Winter Season

According to KLM's latest announcement, the airline will not operate flights between Amsterdam and Dubai during the 2026–2027 winter season, up to and including March 27, 2027.

The extension means passengers who had planned to travel on KLM services to or from Dubai during this period will need to review their bookings and available alternatives.

KLM has stated that passengers whose flights have been cancelled will be notified. Travellers should check their email, the airline's mobile application and the My Trip section of the KLM website for information about their individual reservations.

Riyadh and Dammam Flights Also Affected

The schedule changes also affect Saudi Arabia. KLM has suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam through November 27, 2026, inclusive.

The dates differ by destination: the Dubai suspension covers the full winter season, while the currently announced suspensions for Riyadh and Dammam extend through late November.

Passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia should therefore check the status of their specific flight rather than assume that the same suspension period applies to all three destinations.

What Should Affected Passengers Do?

Travellers whose KLM flights have been cancelled should consult the airline's official travel-alert page for the latest rebooking and refund information.

Depending on the ticket and the conditions applicable to the cancellation, passengers may be offered alternative travel arrangements or the option to request a refund. Travellers should follow the instructions provided directly by KLM and confirm any replacement itinerary before travelling to the airport.

Passengers considering alternative flights should also check the operating airline, departure airport, transit requirements and any applicable visa or entry conditions.

Why Has KLM Changed Its Schedule?

KLM says it is adjusting its Middle East operations in response to the evolving situation in the region. The airline continues to assess its flight schedule and operational circumstances.

The latest notice confirms the cancellation dates but does not provide a separate detailed explanation for the October 26 extension. The airline says it will inform affected passengers and publish further updates when necessary.

Could the Suspension Change?

The current announcement covers the period through March 27, 2027, for Dubai. Airline schedules can change as operational conditions develop, so passengers should consult KLM's official channels before departure.

The suspension is specific to KLM's services and should not be interpreted as confirmation that Dubai Airport is closed or that all flights between Europe and the United Arab Emirates have been cancelled.
