Frankfurt Airport Winter 2026–2027: New Routes and 231 Destinations

FRANKFURT, Germany — Frankfurt Airport is preparing for the 2026–2027 winter flight season with new international connections, expanded services to selected destinations and a network linking Germany with cities across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

According to airport operator Fraport, the winter timetable begins on October 25, 2026, and runs until March 27, 2027. A total of 80 airlines are scheduled to serve 231 destinations in 92 countries, with approximately 3,400 departures and 650,000 departing seats per week.

Although several new routes are being introduced, the overall schedule is smaller than the previous winter timetable, reflecting changes in airline capacity and destination networks.

Lufthansa Launches Nonstop Flights to Kuala Lumpur

One of the major additions for the new winter season is Lufthansa's nonstop service between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

The route is scheduled to begin on October 25, with five flights per week. Lufthansa plans to operate the service using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, providing another direct connection between Europe and Southeast Asia.

The new route offers travellers more options for reaching Malaysia for tourism, business and onward connections across the region. Passengers should check Lufthansa's booking system for operating days, departure times and availability for their specific travel dates.

Discover Airlines Adds Agadir in Morocco

North Africa also features in Frankfurt's winter expansion. Discover Airlines plans to connect Frankfurt with Agadir, the Moroccan coastal destination known for its beaches and mild winter climate.

The service is scheduled to operate twice weekly during the winter season, giving holidaymakers another option for travelling from Germany to Morocco.

Fraport also confirmed that Royal Air Maroc will extend its Frankfurt–Nador service from a seasonal operation to a year-round connection. This change provides greater continuity for travellers visiting northern Morocco and people travelling to see family and friends.

Air Arabia to Launch Daily Flights to Sharjah

Air Arabia is scheduled to join Frankfurt Airport's airline network on December 15, 2026, with daily flights to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

The new connection will link Frankfurt with Air Arabia's home base and offer travellers another option for journeys between Germany and the UAE. Passengers planning onward travel should confirm connection times and ticket conditions directly with the airline.

The addition also strengthens Frankfurt's links with the wider Middle East, a region that serves both leisure travellers and passengers connecting to destinations across Asia.

More Flights to Abu Dhabi and Bangkok Connections

Condor plans to introduce a daily Frankfurt–Abu Dhabi service on November 4. The flights will operate in partnership with Etihad Airways and continue to Bangkok, subject to the airlines' published schedules and ticketing arrangements.

From December, Etihad Airways is also scheduled to add another daily service to Abu Dhabi. According to Fraport, the combined offering will give travellers access to as many as three daily flights between Frankfurt and Abu Dhabi.

These services provide additional options for passengers travelling to the UAE and for those planning connecting journeys beyond the Gulf region.

Air India Increases Services to Delhi and Mumbai

Air India is also expanding selected services from Frankfurt. The airline plans to add one weekly flight to Delhi and one to Mumbai during the winter timetable.

With these additions, the schedule is expected to reach 13 weekly flights between Frankfurt and Delhi and six weekly flights between Frankfurt and Mumbai.

The extra frequencies offer more departure options for passengers travelling between Germany and India, including business travellers, holidaymakers and people visiting relatives.

London Gatwick and Linz Remain Connected

Frankfurt's winter network will also retain selected services introduced during the summer season.

Condor plans to continue flights between Frankfurt and London Gatwick, with up to three daily departures. DAT will likewise maintain its Frankfurt–Linz connection in Austria, with up to three daily flights.

Keeping these routes in the winter schedule provides additional travel choices for passengers moving between Frankfurt and other European cities.

What the Winter Schedule Means for Travellers

The new timetable offers several developments worth watching, particularly for travellers heading to Malaysia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and India.

  • More destination choices: New and expanded services create additional options for selected international journeys.
  • Winter sun: Flights to Agadir provide another option for travellers seeking a warmer destination during the European winter.
  • Asia connections: Lufthansa's Kuala Lumpur service adds a nonstop link to Southeast Asia.
  • Middle East travel: New and expanded services to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi offer more choices for journeys to the Gulf region.
  • Check before booking: Routes, frequencies and operating times can change, so travellers should verify the latest information with the airline before departure.

A Busy Winter Ahead for Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt remains one of Europe's major international aviation hubs, connecting passengers with destinations across a wide global network. Its 2026–2027 winter schedule combines new routes with changes to existing services, giving travellers additional choices on selected markets.

However, a larger choice of routes does not necessarily mean that every destination has more flights than last year. Passengers should compare schedules and fares for their dates, especially when planning winter holidays or connecting journeys.
