Air Transat Adds Direct Lyon–Québec City Flights for Summer 2027

Air Transat is expanding its transatlantic network with a new direct seasonal service between Lyon, France, and Québec City, Canada, scheduled to begin in June 2027.

The new route will give travellers in southeastern France a direct connection to Canada's French-speaking province of Quebec, while providing another European destination for passengers departing from Québec City.

New Lyon–Québec City Route Starts in June 2027

According to the announced schedule, Air Transat will launch the Lyon–Québec City service on June 8, 2027. The seasonal route is scheduled to operate once a week, on Tuesdays, with flights continuing until October 26, 2027.

The service will operate between Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) and Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB).

The aircraft planned for the route will offer 199 seats, including 12 in Club Class, giving passengers a choice of cabin options on the transatlantic journey.

Québec City Expands Its European Connections

The new Lyon service is part of a wider expansion of Air Transat's European network from Québec City.

The airline has also announced a direct seasonal connection between Québec City and Barcelona, scheduled to begin on June 14, 2027, with one weekly flight.

With Lyon and Barcelona joining its existing European destinations, Québec City will have more direct links to cities across the continent during the summer travel season.

These routes are particularly relevant to travellers looking for direct connections between Europe and Quebec without having to connect through Montréal or another major airport.

Air Transat Continues Its European Network Expansion

The airline's wider summer 2027 plans also include additional transatlantic services from other Canadian cities.

Among the announced developments are a Montréal–Geneva service, a Toronto–Birmingham connection and a Montréal–Faro route. These additions reflect Air Transat's continued focus on expanding travel options between Canada and European destinations.

The new routes also strengthen the airline's presence in the leisure travel market, connecting Canadian passengers with European cities and giving European travellers more direct access to Canada.

A New Option for Summer Travel Between France and Canada

The Lyon–Québec City route will provide a seasonal alternative for passengers travelling between France and eastern Canada. It may also support tourism and family travel between the two destinations during the busy summer period.

For Lyon, the new service adds another direct transatlantic connection. For Québec City, it represents a further step in expanding its international air links beyond its traditional European routes.

Passengers should check Air Transat's official booking channels for the latest schedules, fares and availability, as airline schedules may change before the start of the operating season.
